Why We Gather in Small Groups

To Be Equipped to Live the Life of Faith

“Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-13

To Be Encouraged in the Life of Faith

“Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25

To Be Engaged in the Life of Faith

“God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you.” 1 Peter 4:10

What Does A Grace Group Look Like?

We want to grow in our relationship with Christ, alongside each other, not in isolation. We do this through gathering in small Grace groups, just as Jesus modeled for us in meeting with the twelve disciples and sharing life with them. He was even more intimate with three of the twelve!

Jesus emphasized the importance of being close with one another, and we know that His promise stands: when two or three are gathered in His name, He is in our midst! In a small group setting there is interaction, and people have an opportunity to share and get to know each other. These groups are meant for growth and we experience the grace of God in light of His Word together. The small groups are facilitated by people who have demonstrated a calling on their life to minister in this way. As a shepherd gently tends to his flock, so a small group leader guides and nurtures his group.

Each group’s topic and study varies and may be changed at the leader’s discretion, based on the group’s needs. It is exciting to see and be a part of a Grace group and to hear of the life change that happens as God’s people gather in this way!

How Do I Get Involved in a Grace Group?

We pray that you would come to value more and more the importance of gathering together and sharing face to face and side by side, all the while growing in His grace.

1st, communicate your desire with our Grace Church Ministry Team by contacting the church office at 916.714.3444, (“Hi, my name is Grace, and I want to find a small group.”). Or you can contact us by email. Click Here for more contact information.

2nd, share with a Ministry Team member where you are “in life” and what you are looking for (“I‘m looking for a singles’ small group” or “I‘m looking for a young parents’ small group,” etc.).

3rd, expect that we are going to do our very best to find you a great small group to get involved in based on your present needs. A small group leader will personally call you and share with you about the group they lead.
